This is my first non-photo post, and it’s a good time for one. There have been many developments in my life lately!
Last week I officially graduated with a Masters in Applied Linguistics and Exegesis from the Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL) at Trinity Western University. For those of you who have read the ‘About’ page you know that my goal is to be involved in Bible translation, with a people group that does not have a Bible in their mother tongue yet. There are over 2,000 languages where such a project has not even been started! Now that I have graduated it’s on to the next step, whatever that may be.
However, another development helps with that. I have officially been accepted with Pioneer Bible Translators (PBT) as of today. PBT’s primary mission is to facilitate this kind of Bible translation. They are much like Wycliffe Bible Translators (for those of you who are familiar with them) though smaller. The coming days will likely reveal next steps for moving forward with PBT. I don’t know where in the wide world I might be eventually going, and the timing is completely in God’s hands as well.
Another amazing development in my life is I recently began dating a wonderful woman. It’s still hard to believe that God has brought Jenneka into my life; what an expression of grace! Currently we are dating at a distance, because I am moving back to Washington for the time being, while she is continuing to study at CanIL.
How this all fits together, I don’t know yet. But I find it all so exciting and am expectantly looking to God for his leading and timing. Please pray for me!
