I took these photos from the ridge west of Buntzen Lake, overlooking Vancouver BC and Burrard Inlet. Several friends and I were on an intrepid dayhike and found ourselves on the ridge at sunset (which was great for photography but bad for hiking back in the dark). The fog in the lowlands beautifully obscured the city, and created a real sense of drama and distance. One can see the mountains of Vancouver Island in the distance, over the fog-shrouded Strait of Georgia.
